48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
KJV
How could anyone do that to Jesus? A kiss indicates love, communion, fellowship, a oneness, how could anyone, even Judas betray Jesus with a kiss? But how many do the very same thing today? We say we love Jesus, Jesus saved us, Jesus forgave our sin, Jesus protects us, makes intercessions for us and so much more, how could we ever betray Jesus with a kiss? But we do it all the time when we fail to begin our day by reading His Word, when we fail to pray, when we fail to obey His Word and still claim to love Jesus. We betray Jesus with a kiss. Will you spend more time with Jesus today or more time given to the world? Will you be in the church house when the doors are open or in your own house? Will you obey or disobey His Word in your actions, words and thoughts today? Jesus said “If ye love Me” and a kiss in an indication of love, “Keep my commandments”. What does Jesus think of me, of you, when we approach Him to give Him a kiss? Many today who claim Jesus as their Savior do the very same thing Judas did. Jesus doesn’t deserve kisses like that, Jesus deserves kisses of obedience.
