March 20th, 2025 by Pastor SolleyEph 5:14-17 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

We are to awake to our walk, verse fifteen, we are to awake to using time wisely, verse sixteen, for we have little time to waste. Today we see that we are to awake to the will of God in our lives. Many who claim to know the Lord will also say they do not know what the will of God is for them or even if God has a will for them. Could it be because we don’t want to know? God does have a will for each child of His, a perfect will for us. (Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.) But to awake to His will, to ask God to reveal His will, will demand certain decisions from us as well as a surrender of our will and that seems to be a problem to many. Seeking the will of God we have no right to choose whom we marry, where we live, what we do for a living, how we raise our children, how we conduct our home and so on. That may seem to demand much of us until we remember that God’s will is always perfect and always good and acceptable. Many hours were spent in prayer by both myself and my wife before we married asking God for His will. It has been a good and acceptable marriage and life. More hours were spent in prayer asking God’s will concerning the pastorate. It has been a good and acceptable path of service. Hours spent in asking God’s will in the order of our home and it has been a good and acceptable way to raise our children. God’s will may not always be what we dreamed of but His will is going to make our lives better if we just awake to it. What else could be more good, acceptable, and perfect than the will of God. Awake and ask.
