Big game last night, the Super Bowl, and everyone knew what was going to happen. The Chiefs would win, the Eagles would lose, everyone knew what would happen. Except that didn’t happen, everyone was wrong. Wouldn’t it be great if we could know what was really going to happen? We can if we turn our attention to the true Word of God, to the Word of truth. I know what will happen when one sees themselves as a sinner, born in sin, apart from God, sees the Savior that died for their sins, repents and receives the free gift of salvation offered to all by Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross and resurrection from the grave. That one receives eternal life and a home in heaven with their savior for all eternity. I know what will happen. I know what will happen when one refuses to repent from sin and turns away from Jesus. That one will spend eternity in hell. I know what will happen and that truth rests on the foundation of the Word of God. I would rather know what will happen in eternity than on a football field. Did you wager on the game? Did you lose money? Please don’t gamble with your soul, the stakes are much too high, look to Jesus today, ask Him to forgive you of your sin, and ask Him and Him alone to save you. That is something you can trust in.
