February 3rd, 2025 by Pastor SolleyRom 8:10-12 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
KJV
Who do your owe this morning? Most reading this will owe someone something. Perhaps we owe the bank for money borrowed, perhaps we owe someone for a favor done, perhaps we owe a credit card company, but most reading this will owe someone something. When we are in debt we ought to do our best to pay off that debt. Who do we owe more than Jesus today? Paul knew just how much Jesus Christ had done for him, that there was a great debt owed his savior. The best way to pay off some of that debt was for Paul to live for Jesus Christ. For those who receive Him as personal savior Jesus had paid a debt He did not owe, paid a debt we could never cover, and Jesus did it all for us. Jesus never demands we repay Him for what He did for us, only that we receive His free and clear gift of eternal life. But for those truly born again we come to realize just how much we owe our Lord and Savior. Who do you owe more than Jesus this morning? The best way to show just how much love Him for what He did for us is to live for Him and not after our flesh. Who do you owe this morning?
