2 Sam 7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
2 Sam 7:25 And now, O Lord God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
KJV
Have you ever had a promise made to you broken? Have you ever had a trust betrayed? All who read this can identify with those two questions I am sure. Yet there is one whose promises have never been broken and whose trust will never be betrayed. The promises of God are sure and He will “Do as thou hast said” because our God is great and our God is able. There is none like our God and what God says God will do. When you read a promise found in the Word of God, a promise spoken to others perhaps but made to you, that promise is true. (Jer 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.) That promise spoken to Jeremiah is still for you and me today. (Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.) That promise spoken to those Hebrews believers is for us today. Did God keep and is God keeping those promises? Yes! So it is with all the promises in the Word of God, not one of them will be broken, no trust will be betrayed. Praise God today for His promises and praise Him even more for the knowledge that each promise will be kept, not one of them will be broken. Let us do in our lives what we sing about so often “Standing on the promises of God”.
