Isa 64:6-8 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
KJV
So thankful today that Jesus saves the unworthy. Verse six above holds the picture of all men and women in the sight of God, completely unworthy of salvation. No matter how many good works we do, our righteousness, they will fade as a beautiful leaf does in the fall. Beautiful for a time but then to be crumpled and and blown away. No matter the cleanness of our lives before God they are seen as filthy rags to be burned in a fire. That is our goodness apart from Christ and we stand unworthy of salvation. But that same unworthy one can call upon the name of the Lord, can call upon Jesus in faith and believing for salvation and we find that Jesus is mighty to save and that Jesus can save to the uttermost. We can call Him Father when we repent of sin, turn from our good works, and trust the finished work of Jesus on the cross where He shed His blood for us and then rose from the dead three days later and is alive for evermore. Thankful today that Jesus is willing and able to save one as unworthy as I am. Are you saved today?
