Eph 5:15-16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Col 4:5-6 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
KJV
Two times we are commanded in a very short space to “Redeem the time”. Why? Because we have no idea how much time we have left and because time wasted can never be redeemed or bought back. We used to play a game called HORSE shooting a basketball and each time you missed a shot you received a letter with the one who spelled HORSE first out of the game. But when you received that last letter you were permitted to shoot a redeemer shot and if you made that difficult shot that last letter was removed and you could stay in the game. As I look back over 2024 I find no redeemer shot to reclaim time that I wasted, no possible way to make good use of that time and I will never have that time again. I want to do better in 2025, make wise use of time. There are so many things in the world today that rob us of our time, allow us to waste time and many of those things, like I am engaging in right now are good or can be used for good. But those same things can rob us of hours and hours a day. I can use the internet for good, I can use Face Book for good, I can use the cell phone for good, and I can also waste time on those things when I can be busy for my Lord. The Bible commands us to make good use of our time, to redeem time and the only way time can be redeemed is to not waste it in the first place. I want to do better in 2025.
