Ps 138:7-8 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
KJV
My thoughts are moved to revival as we have begun specials services this week at Cherry Corner. There is no question that we are living in the midst of trouble today. Trouble on the world front, trouble in our nation, trouble in government, trouble in homes and troubles in our lives. These are very troublesome times. But what does the Bible say? In the midst of trouble there can be revival. “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me:” But this revival, which is promised, will come only as we humble ourselves before the Lord and seek it. (Ps 138:6 Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.) God has respect unto the lowly. That is God moves to those who humble themselves before Him and will revive those ones. This preacher, like all born again believers, walks in the midst of trouble today and is in need of revival. That much needed revival will come when we acknowledge the need and come to the Lord. Sad to say that often we allow pride to keep us from the Lord, to keep us from the Word of God and the house of God and then we wonder why we lack that spiritual fire we once had and then as troubles come into our lives the spiritual strength we need seems to be lacking. God will revive and revive in the midst of trouble for that is His promise. But do we seek, do we want such revival?
