Ps 62:1-7 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
KJV
What are your expectations today and who are you waiting for to fulfill them? If you are waiting upon man to fulfill your expectations, be they great or small, the end will be what you read in verses three and four above. But if you are waiting upon the Lord, seeking His will, making Jesus Christ the rock of your life, then you will find strength for the day and sweet peace and rest in the refuge of your soul. Spent about seven hours in a hospital yesterday with one who had a surgical procedure. (Not my wife or myself.) Sitting in the waiting room with so many other people and all waiting to hear from a surgeon, all waiting for news and all with expectations. But as my wife and I waited it was with different expectations and we waited and prayed for God’s will to come to pass. When one waits upon the Lord, truly places expectations in the hands of Almighty God then whatever the outcome those expectations are fulfilled. All our greatest needs, our greatest expectations will be fulfill when they are placed in the capable hands of the Lord. Where do your expectations lie today?
