Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
KJV
Let the peace of God rule in your heart. In other words allow the peace of God to rule in your heart. God wants to give you peace, to give me peace, and that peace is there for all of God’s children to have. That word peace means quietness and rest, to rest in the Lord. But God doesn’t know the troubles I have. Yes God does. But God doesn’t know the heartache I am experiencing. Yes God does. But God doesn’t know my doubts and fears. Yes God does. But God doesn’t know my pain. Yes God does. God knows all those things and God has peace for you and me. The key to letting the peace of God rule is found in this verse, be ye thankful. How can one be thankful in trials, in heartaches, when there are doubts and fears? First be thankful for what you have in Jesus Christ beginning with eternal life. Then be thankful for all the blessings of God that have been poured out upon you after you were saved. Then be thankful for the provision and protection of God. As we learn to be thankful for what we have in Christ we will also be able to give Him thanks for all things all of the time for He is a good, good God. More about the peace of God tomorrow.
