Col 4:1-3 Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.
2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Much of the Bible is given to prayer and the need of prayer. In our reading this morning Paul commands and asks for prayer under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. “Continue in prayer”. In other passage we find that we are to “Pray without ceasing”, to be found “Praying always”, to be given to “Fasting and prayer”. Much of the Bible is given to prayer. Why then don’t we who claim to believe the Bible pray as we ought? Why not be continually given to prayer? If prayer is so important to God, and prayer was so important to Jesus, why don’t we pray as we ought? As we begin this year think for a moment of your prayer life and ask yourself if it is what God wants it to be and what you need it to be. There are so many distractions in our world today that we often without intent allow them to take us away from what is most important. Remember the command and the plea to continue in prayer and pray for others as well as yourself.
