Song 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
KJV
What little foxes can Satan send our way to spoil the vines of our spiritual walk with the Lord?
Consider Moses this morning, that great servant of God. Moses for all he did for the Lord was not permitted to enter into the Promised Land. What kept Moses out, what happened to stop Moses from finishing the work God gave him to do? Moses became weary in well doing and that little fox of weariness with the work kept Moses out of the Promised Land. (Num 20:10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?) Moses grew weary with the people, weary with the work and Satan used that weariness to move Moses to say and do things that were not after what God told him to do and certainly not what God told him to say. That little fox of weariness spoiled the vine. There are many things that can move the child of God to weariness in this world. Health problems, money problems, family problems can all cause one to become weary. God warns of this. (2 Thess 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.) Don’t allow that little fox of weariness to move you away from the Lord. Our God is always good and by spending time with Him in prayer and in His Word that little fox of weariness can be overcome and we can continue on for our wonderful Lord. Moses because weary as do all of us from time to time. We need to learn from the example of Moses to fight off that weariness by a close walk with the Lord even when it might seem we cannot go another step.
