Phil 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
KJV
We conclude our week of Thanksgiving with the command we find in verse six above. (Phil 4:6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.) The word careful means to take anxious thought, to worry. It is more than concern, it is more than worry, it is a worry that can move one away from a close walk with the Lord and move one to physical sickness as well. I remember a saying I have heard that one is “Worried to death” and there can be a great deal of truth in that statement. But do we need to be careful, anxious, worried to that point? The answer is no for the Christian when we remember who stands waiting to hear and act upon our prayers. The Bible tells us we can even give thanks for the things that worry us because Jesus stands ready to help in our time of need.
(Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.) Whatever it is that worries you today it is something that our Lord and Savior is able to take care of in a great and mighty way. You will find mercy, you will find grace for that need when you bring it to Jesus. Be thankful and pray and then allow the peace of God to flood over you soul.
