Ps 107:1-2 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

We can give thanks unto God for His never ending mercy, for mercy that endures for ever. When one thinks of the mercy of God it is often in the context of looking back at what God has already done and that is a very good thing to do. But there is mercy that is for ever and that means mercy for the day we are beginning, mercy for tomorrow and mercy for ever more. I look with thanksgiving at the mercy that is for me today and mercy that is new every morning. (Lam 3:22-23 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.) I will not live today on mercy left over from yesterday, I will live today because of brand new mercy from God. I will not depend upon mercy and faith from yesterday to carry me through the trials and troubles that may come with this day, I depend on mercy that is brand new. Thank God for His mercy today because it is brand new for you and will carry you through this day.
