Col 3:1-4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
KJV
What are you seeking today? It seems that so many professing Christians are seeking things below and not things above in the world we live in today. The Bible tells us that we are not to be so entangled in the world that we seek only those things the world has to offer, that our affections are to be on things above. We do need many of the things of the world to live in the world. Things such things as food, clothing, a house, a car and to have those things we need to work for them and that is commanded. (2 Thess 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.) But is that all we are working for, are those things all we care about, do the things of the world have our heart? When that happens, and it can happen to any and all of us, we lose our true purpose in life, we lose who and what we really are. As a Christian Christ is to be our priority and we are to be found pleasing and serving Him. But how many of us will begin our day today by asking the Lord to guide us, to lead us according to His will, to help us give Him our whole heart? Will you go about your day looking up and trying to please Jesus, or looking at the world and following it? Where will your affections be today?
