2 And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

How many times do we think as David thought in verse one? We know what is going to happen, we know what is going to take place in our lives, we know. But do we know what God knows? David was never going to be killed by Saul as God had already revealed that David would be the next king in Israel. But David with his eyes on the circumstances that he was in, with his eyes on Saul, never took the time to consult the Lord about this move he made. Had David done that he would never would have went off to the land of the Philistines. David needed to trust more even though he had no idea how God was going to work. When the circumstances of the world seem to be overtaking us we need to trust more. We need to wait on the Lord placing all in His capable hands. We will never know how God was going to deliver David at that time because David did not wait and trust. If a man after the heart of God can make that mistake how much more can we? We need to take time to trust and wait on the Lord and see what God has planned for us instead of allowing our limited thoughts to guide us.
