October 3rd, 2023 by Pastor Solley2 Kings 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.
KJV
Naaman, by the record of Scripture was a great man. He was an honorable man, a leader of men, am accomplished soldier, a man of valor and as one reads more in this chapter a kind man by his treatment of a little maid. But like all great men Naaman had a problem, he was a leper. No one in this world is without a flaw and a great one. Leprosy in the Bible is often seen as a type of sin. Naaman has something within him that was destroying him and there was no cure. We all have a sin problem, something within us that will kill us and take us to an eternal hell and there is no cure. But that little maid would point Naaman to a man of God and Naaman would be cured. We also need one to take care of the sin problem we are all born with. (Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:) That one is Jesus Christ. (Rom 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.) Only after this sin problem is addressed can one be whole. We may be great in the eyes of man as was Naaman but in the eyes of God we need to be cured and the only cure is Jesus Christ. Naaman would eventually follow the command of the man of God and be cured of something of which there was no cure. The only way we can be cured of the sin problem today is through Jesus Christ. Have you come to the one who is able to take care of the sin problem in your life?
