13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Why is death so precious in the sight of the Lord? How can something so painful in this world be precious to the Lord? Because one has taken that cup of salvation. Are you saved today, are you born again, will your death be precious to the Lord? The first step in taking that cup of salvation is to acknowledge the need. We need to be saved because we are lost. (Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; – Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. – Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.) No reason for me to be saved unless I am lost. So many believe that being a good person takes care of the sin problem. Others believe that going to church takes care of the sin problem. Others that good works and good intentions will take care of the sin problem. None of those things address the problem of sin. We are all born with a sin nature that separates us from God and if not addressed will take us to hell. Hell is as real as heaven. Good people are in hell today. Those with good intentions are in hell today. Sin is the problem and it must be addressed and one must acknowledge sin. Do you know that you are a sinner, that like me you were born in sin? Jesus is the answer, Jesus is the one who can take care of the sin problem. But we must acknowledge our need before we can meet our Savior. To take the cup of salvation I must see my need.
