1 Thess 1:7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
This group of believers in Christ were examples for others in their turning from idols unto the Lord and a changed life. (We noted that on Monday.) Their desire for the Word of God. (Tuesday) They were also examples as they endured hardships, trials, and temptations staying faithful to Christ.
1 Thess 3:7-8 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:
8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
KJV
They came under attack by Satan and Satan will let no child of God or work of God alone. Satan seeks to destroy all that is of God and all who place faith and trust in Christ. But how will we respond to the trials of our faith and the attack of Satan? They chose to stand fast in the Lord. We need to realize when we face the trials of this life that we are not left alone. Jesus faced the same trials. We need to realize that when we face temptations that we are not alone. Jesus faced the same temptations. Others have faced the same things as well. (1 Cor 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.) But how will we respond? Many have turned away from the only one who can help them. Many have gotten angry with the one who loves them beyond all others. Many grow bitter and question instead of trusting the one who knows tomorrow. How will we respond? Those believers who had lives changed and valued the Word of God decided to stand fast in the Lord. Will we?
