July 12th, 2023 by Pastor SolleyEx 16:1-4 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.
4 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Ex 16:21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.

Morning manna. God gave Israel bread from heaven every morning and each one was to gather exactly what was needed for the day. They could not use what was gathered the day before and they could not wait until the next day, they gathered manna each morning. So it is with our morning manna, the Word of God. Jesus is the bread of life and we need come to Him and Him alone for eternal life. But we also need fed each day and that comes from feeding on the bread of life we find in our Bible. I cannot survive on yesterdays manna and I can’t take in a double portion today so I need not gather tomorrow. The manna given to Israel is a perfect picture of the manna we need daily as children of God. But did you pick up your Bible yesterday, will you today, and what then about tomorrow? There has never been a greater need than today for you to be in your Bible, to hear from God, to be fed from His Word. There will be even a greater need tomorrow for we need to gather manna each and every day.
