Heb 4:9-10 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
KJV
How does one find the rest that is promised in verse nine? First, believe God as we noted yesterday. Second, put all known sin away, give it to Jesus, let Him cleanse you, and walk in the newness of life. Sin always harms and destroys whatever and whoever it touches. None of us are perfect and we all need to turn the spotlight of His Word upon ourselves. (Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.) Whatever it is in our life that hinders our walk and relationship with Jesus Christ, no matter how big or small it is, needs to be put away if we want the peace and rest that is promised to us by God. Remember what Jesus said to the woman at the well, “Go, and sin no more.” Ask the Holy Spirit of God to reveal to you what is keeping you from the peace offered to you in Christ and then bring that to the Lord asking for His help and put it away. If you are perfect this morning there is no need to follow in this direction. But if you are like myself you need daily to shine the spotlight of His Word on your life. Remember, nothing is hid from the one who promises us peace and rest.
