Apologies for this being late this morning.
Ever feel alone? Ever feel as if there is no help near by, that there is not one who understands? It is a feeling that David was very familiar with as were so many other men and women of God in the Bible. The word alone is an often used word if the Bible and I want to look this week at our help when we are all alone. Let us begin in the Psalms by looking at the word alone. It is used most in reference to the Lord. (Ps 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. ; Ps 86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone. ; Ps 136:4 To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever. ; Ps 148:13 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.) Four of the five times the word alone is found in the Book of Psalms is in reference to God and not to the feeling of being all alone. What should this tell us? First, that man should know that there is a God in heaven and He and He alone is in control of all things. (Ps 83:18) Second that our God can do and does great things. (Ps 136:4) Let us stop there this morning and meditate upon those two great and eternal truths. Our God alone is God and is in control of all things. If God is in control of all then God knows all and we are not really then all alone. God can do great things and if God can do great things He can do great things for you. Is there really no one who understands, is there really no one who can help? There is a God who knows and a God who can help you today dear one, turn to Him.
