Neh 9:38 And because of all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, Levites, and priests, seal unto it.
KJV
This morning God’s sure covenant of salvation. I know some who believe that salvation in Christ can be lost after it has been gained. But that is not what the Bible teaches. Salvation is gained when one places their trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. When one realizes that they have sinned, are a sinner and sin will be judged by a holy and righteous God and the wages of our sin is not only a physical death but an eternity in a real hell. The good works of man, the good intentions of man, religious acts and loyalty will not take care of the sin problem. But Jesus can. (Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ; John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.) Jesus Christ is the only answer for the sin problem and we must be born again. But then what type of life do we receive from Jesus? Jesus said everlasting life, Jesus said eternal life, Jesus said we cannot be taken out of His powerful hand. So if we believe Him for salvation why not then believe that He will not break that covenant He made in providing eternal life? Why not just depend upon Jesus to do what He said He will do? (Jude 24-25
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.) He has made a sure covenant that will not be broken. Come to Jesus Christ today confessing your sin to Him, ask Him to forgive and save you, and you will be part of that eternal covenant that cannot be broken.
