April 10th, 2023 by Pastor SolleyLuke 24:27-32 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Does your heart burn within when you open your Bible? Does your heart burn within when you talk with Jesus? An honest Christian will admit that is not always the case and when we are completely honest before God we must admit that it is seldom the case. But what if your heart did long for the Bible, long for the Word of God, long for prayer? Would that make a difference in your life? I cannot say who those were that walked and talked with Jesus because they are not identified in the Bible. What I can say is that their time with Jesus Christ on that road changed their lives, it set their hearts afire for the Lord. (Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?) So it should be with our time with the Lord. When you open your Bible this morning, when you pray, when you talk to Jesus throughout this day your heart should be set on fire for the Lord. When that is not true we need to set even more time aside so we can get apart and alone with our Savior. What Jesus did for those two He wants to do for you and for me today.
