How many times dear Christian do we walk in Psalm 91:15? Over and over again, day by day, at times minute by minute we come to the throne of grace in prayer asking and pleading for God’s help in time of trouble. That is what we are supposed to do, what God wants us to do. The promise of Ps 91:15 is repeated many times throughout both the Old and New Testaments. If we would not pray we would be foolish. But how often then do we walk in the first verse of the next Psalm? (Ps 92:1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:) Do you thank Him for answered prayer? Do you thank Him for asking you to pray? Do you thank Him for listening to your prayers? How many times do you give thanks? Often when our children were young and they would ask for something that they could not get for themselves at the time, a drink of milk or something like that we would make sure they would say please. But when handing that thing to them I would hold onto it until they said thank you. I wanted them to understand that they need to give thanks for everything. We ask for things of God all of the time and we should. But do you ever stop to give thanks? If that answer is no then it is no wonder that answers to prayer often seem to be delayed. Perhaps God is holding on until we say thanks.
