February 14th, 2023 by Pastor SolleyTitus 2:12-15 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
KJV
As we noted yesterday not only did Jesus die to forgive us of sin and provide eternal life for all who would be born again He also died to redeem us from a lifestyle of sin. (Verse 12) Jesus also provides the believer with hope in a hopeless world. (Verse 13) What can you depend upon in this world? Inflation is taking away savings, government spending out of control, no longer can people feel safe in their homes with crime on the rise, world wide uncertainty. I listened on the news yesterday a spokesman from the pentagon say that our military has shot down several things that they don’t know what they are, where they came from or what they do. That provided little assurance. What hope is in this world? But our hope is not in this world, our hope is in Jesus Christ and the promise of His return for His own. Do you know Jesus today? Then you have a hope that will carry you through this day. What if the trumpet is ready to sound this morning? What if you were to be called up to heaven today? What if you were to receive the mansion Jesus has been preparing for you today? What if all pain, all sorrow, all tears would be wiped away today? That is your hope dear Christian and let that hope carry you through this day.
