Gen 3:1-6 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
KJV
Satan certainly has a way of placing things before us that are pleasant to our eyes and seem so very good. That is what took place all those years ago in the Garden of Eden. Both Adam and Eve must have passed by that tree many times before this encounter with the serpent, they must have looked at the tree of knowledge of good and evil many times. They would know of the fruit growing on that tree, they would know it looked very good, they would know of the smell of the leaves and so forth. They also knew they were not to eat of the fruit of that tree. So what happened? Satan was able to make that tree and that fruit so appealing that certain day that Eve could not pass by. Watch out dear believer for Satan does that same thing many times over each day to the child of God. Satan is able to make that which we know is wrong, that which we know is not good, that which we know is sin and make it seem so very pleasant in our eyes if only for a moment. But we must be aware of the battle we are in, the tactics of the enemy and the consequences of our actions. In a moment of time Eve ruined her relationship with God and her life and while God forgave and provided shed blood for their sin things changed forever that day for Adam and Eve. Don’t allow Satan to make what you know to be wrong seem pleasant in your eyes for the enjoyment of that moment can bring a lifetime of regret.
