Ps 69:1-3 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
KJV
Do you at times tire of waiting on God? Without doubt David stands in need of Divine help and guidance in this Psalm. David has cried so many tears and offered up so many prayers that his throat is dried. The eyes of David have also failed him and it is hard to see. Many are the times that one can identify with David in these verses. What to do? Follow David through this Psalm and you will find David continued to pray, continued to cry out to God. Even as David thought the waters of adversity were about to cover his head he kept praying. (Verse 14-15) Many are the times we may be found in David’s shoes and we need to do what David did. I know many that have found themselves in David’s shoes and have grew weary of waiting on the Lord and turned away from the only one who could help them. When the answer seems to be wait then we need to wait and stay faithful in prayer. We need to remember what David knew, that our God is always good. (Verse 16) Whatever the need, whatever the problem, how could it be better without God?
David did ask for God to act speedily but David also was willing to wait on the Lord. (Verse 17)
