Daily Devotions

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
How many can look back over 2022 and echo the words of David in these verses? How many hope 2023 will be a better year? The troubles of this life will not go away because we turn the page on the calendar. We do not know what we may face in the coming year. But there is that one we can depend upon for mercy and grace to carry us through. David had many times of traubles and trials but through them all David knew he could call upon and depend upon his God. Do you know that today? Yes there are going to be times of traubles in the New Year and perhaps more than we care to think about. But there is as well mercy above measure to be found in the Lord.
