Gal 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
KJV
When to give that Christmas gift that so much planning went into? Some have family gatherings a few days before Christmas and exchange gifts while some have family gatherings a few days after Christmas to exchange gifts. Some exchange gifts on Christmas Eve and others only on Christmas Day. For some there is a combination of all of the above. As far as gifts we may exchange today there is no set rule, no set time. But for the gift of God there was a set time, an appointed time and that was at the fulness of time. Verse four above tells us that Jesus Christ was given into this world at the perfect time, in God’s perfect time. Wouldn’t it have been better if Jesus were given immediately after the fall of man in Genesis three? No. Wouldn’t it have been better if Jesus were given in the days of David or Solomon? No. Wouldn’t it be better if Jesus were given into the world today? No. The answer to all of those question and many like them is always no because Jesus Christ was given into the world at the perfect time, in the fulness of time. Christmas comes once each year and it is at a good time even though we don’t know the date in the calendar that the Son of God was given. Jesus was given one time into the world as a savior that would sacrifice His life for your sin and mine and it was the perfect time. One more day in time I would remind you of this morning. (2 Cor 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Today is a day that is set in time, a day you could repent and turn to Jesus for forgiveness of your sin and eternal life. Today just may be the day of fulness of time for you. Are you born again today? Can you be sure you will have another day?
