22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

For some Christmas gifts are a spur of the moment thing while for others much planning goes into them. The gift of salvation brought down to man by the Son of God and delivered with His shed blood on the cross was a gift of much preparation and planning. We celebrate the child that was born, the Son that was given on December 25th each year but do we ever consider the planning and preparation? Here in the book of Acts we find that the determinate counsel of God met and Jesus Christ was chosen to be the one to come into this world and provide that salvation. When was that decision made? Was it after the fall of man? Was it after the Old Testament priesthood became corrupted ? Was it after Israel began to keep the sacrifices without hearts given to God? Was it after the fall of Israel into Gentile domination? When was the decision made? According to the Bible that decision was made according to the foreknowledge of God. That means before this world was ever created God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit laid in stone the plan of salvation. Salvation in Christ was no spur of the moment decision for even while the very Son of God spoke this world into being He knew and had determined that He would go to the cross. A gift that much planing and preparation goes into is much appreciated or should be.
