17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

This is the first use of the word everlasting in the Bible and ends our look at that word over the last few days. This everlasting points to the everlasting promises of God. God makes many promises in His Word and to many peoples. God made promises specific to Abraham, to Israel, to other nations and to the born again believer in Christ. It is important to see to whom the different promises are made. For example God promised to make of Abraham a great nation and that promise for Abraham. God promised David that one of his line would sit on the throne of Israel forever and that promise for David. God promised Israel different things as well and those promises for Israel. God has promised all men ceratin promises as well. God promised to save all who call out to Him through Jesus Christ. (Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.) God promised that if we come to Jesus we would not be cast out. (John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.) God has promised eternal life to those born again. (John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.) God’s promises are everlasting. This world will change, circumstances of life will change, all things change. But God never changes and God will keep all of His promises for they are everlasting. Turn to Jesus today, depend upon Jesus today, His promises are everlasting.
