Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
KJV
What to do when we become weary. Yesterday we noted that it is time to look up when we grow weary in this world. We also need to look deep? Deep into what? Deep into the Word of God and deep into the well of prayer. How much does the Bible mean to you this morning? For most professing believers the Bible is a book they pay attention to once a week when the preacher is reading from it and very little attention is given to the Bible the rest of the time. Your Bible should be a prized possession. Your Bible should be a constant resource to turn to in times when you grow weary in this world. If you are asking in your mind how can the Bible help me it is an indictment directed toward you. How much help was the Word of God to Jesus as He was under the attack of Satan when He was wearied and exhausted in Matthew chapter four? Pick up the sacred volume and dig deep into the treasures in front of you and you will find what help the Bible can be to you. Then look deep into prayer. The cell phone, the news, the TV show that you are given to will only bring on more weariness because they are stealing away time you could be spending with Jesus in prayer. This can be a struggle for most because of the easy access to those things and the escape they seem to offer. But that escape is fleeting at best. Time spent even in quiet meditation with Jesus in prayer is worth more than most anything in this world. Go deep into prayer. Look at Jesus so many times deep into prayer and if Jesus needed that how much more do we?
