Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Two times in the Bible the child of God is commanded to not be weary. When we are told something one time it should be enough, then a second time and we need to pay close attention. Weariness can be a problem for the Christian. We know lost people who become so weary, so despondent, so discouraged and tired that they turn to alcohol or drugs or even to the point of taking their own lives to escape that feeling. Now we see the child of God warned of becoming weary. It is certainly easy to become weary today and God has the answers to that weariness. Three things we need to do to combat weariness. First, look up. Our current condition of weariness, no matter the cause, will be lessened when we turn our eyes upon Jesus. There were times even Jesus became weary during His earthly ministry and His response was to lift His eyes to heaven. (John 11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, – John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.) Jesus was not groaning in the Spirit out of joy but of weariness. Weary with the unbelief of those standing in front of Him, weary with the results of sin which is death, weary with sorrow and many more things we could name. What did Jesus do? He lifted His eyes to heaven. Look up weary one for there is one in heaven cares for you. Look up weary one for there is one in heaven that is coming for you. Look up weary one for this world and its troubles are temporal. Look up to Jesus weary one, look up for our redemption draweth neigh. Look up when you are weary.
