1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
KJV
I sincerely hope and pray that you are ready for that glorious day when we see the mystery of godliness on display, for the day we as born again believers in Christ are received up into glory. That day is called a mystery in 1 Cor. 15 and it is a mystery because we wonder what it will be like, who we will see first in heaven, what we will do in heaven and so on. But before we think of those things we must make sure we are ready. Not everyone is going to heaven and not everyone that Jesus died for on the cross is going to heaven. Man, all men, are born in sin and all does mean all. All are in need of forgiveness and salvation but not one of us can save ourselves. That is why Jesus came into this world, to provide salvation for you and for me, to die for all sinners and give all sinners an opportunity to be saved. Salvation comes when we acknowledge that we are sinners, when we confess that sin to Jesus Christ, when we repent of sin and turn to Jesus and Jesus alone for that forgiveness and salvation we need. Salvation is not found in a church, not in waters of baptism, not in the communion table, not in good works, not in good intentions, not in the prayers of others and not even in some written out prayer that people may have told you to pray. Salvation is found in faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. Have you been born again? The one who wonders at that question most likely is not. Friend, trusting Jesus is the first step, it unlocks the mystery of what lies ahead of us. Is it heaven for you? Are you waiting to be received up into His glory? Or have you never been saved and the glory that you desire will be replaced by the fires of hell. Trusting Jesus today is that first step and I hope you will take that step toward glory.
