Ps 27:13-14 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
KJV
Final encouragement concerning prayer this morning as we end our week. We need to pray, we need to guard being hindered in prayer, and at times we need to simply wait on the Lord while we pray. Two times in verse fourteen above we are commanded to wait on the Lord, to be of good courage and wait on the Lord. Where have we heard those words good courage before? The last words of Moses were ones where he told the children of Israel to be of good courage and enter the Promised Land. God’s first command to Joshua as he was about to lead the people into that Promised Land was to be of good courage. As Ezra was being used of God to rebuild the wall and city of Jerusalem, to restore the temple we find those same words to be of good courage. And dear one we are commanded to be of good courage as we wait on the Lord. The prayers of all those mentioned above were answered in time, in God’s perfect time. Be of good courage for God has heard your request. Be of good courage because Satan cannot stop the moving of the hand of God. Be of good courage for God always has your best interest in mind. Be of good courage for God’s will is always best for you. Be of good courage for our God does all things well. Pray and wait on the Lord. Wait as well in good courage for God is going to accomplish His will and answer your request in His perfect time.
