How many faithful sayings does one hear today? I watched a political debate last evening and between the candidates I am not sure I heard even one faithful saying. Yet I do find the Bible is a book of faithful sayings. It is a faithful saying that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, came into this world to save sinners. (1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.) It is a faithful saying that we need pay attention to spiritual matters more than physical while we can. (1 Tim 4:8-9
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.) It is a faithful saying that we can be justified by the blood of Christ, made just as if we have never sinned in the sight of God. (Titus 3:7-8 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.) What faithful sayings are you listening to today? The only faithful sayings we can depend upon come from the Word of God, the only faithful one is Jesus Christ. Listen to the Word of God tell us we are sinners. Listen to the Word of God tell us that sin brings death and to die in sin brings the eternal flames of hell. Listen to the Word of God tells us of a Savior, His death on the cross and resurrection alive from the grave. Listen to the Word of God tell us that only Jesus saves. Listen and repent from sin, listen and receive Jesus as your savior, listen to the faithful sayings and live for ever with Jesus. These are faithful sayings.
