2 For the truth’s sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.

What a wonderful statement from the heart of John to others believers in Christ. This is inspired Scripture, the pure and eternal Word of God. It also comes from the beloved Apostle’s heart and needs to be received in our heart today if we are born again, The truth dwells within us and will never leave us. Who is truth? Jesus is. (John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. ; John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. ; 1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.) What a comfort to know that the truth that dwells in us will do so forever. I need to know that today. A true Christian is never alone, never needs feel forsaken, never needs fear the darkness, can rest in assurance about the future. Why? Because the truth that is in us will stay with us forever and ever.
