1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
KJV
We have been looking at the footsteps of Jesus for most of this week. Where will they end, where will they lead us if we follow them? That answer in the last verse of this chapter. (1 Peter 2:25
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.) They end with a close walk and relationship with God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To walk our own path is to be walking astray as it says in verse twenty five. To walk in His steps lead us to Him. What better place for a sheep to be found, walking close to his shepherd. Where are you walking today? That path that is leading you astray or in the footsteps of Jesus? As we have noted this week the footsteps of Jesus may lead to places that are not always easy to walk. We may be falsely accused. It may be difficult to maintain a good testimony during those times. But those footsteps will always lead us closer to our Savior, closer to our God, closer to the shepherd of our soul. Is there a better place to be?
