1 Thess 1:1-3 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

On this Labor Day a verse about labor. (1 Thess 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;) What joy it brings, what blessings are to be found in labor for the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not a verse given to pastors, evangelist, or missionaries. It is a verse given to every born again child of God. We can be found in service for the Lord, each and every one of us. We have not all been given the same calling but we have all been called to serve our Savior. The church addressed in this passage did great things for the Lord and it was not because their pastor did great things it was because the people did great things for the Lord. In verse two above thanks is given for all. The body of Christ has many members and each one has a part to play in the makeup and the outworking of that body. What part are you playing today? The Bible says that even those parts that seem unnecessary are very necessary in the work of the Lord. (1 Cor. 12) How many are the ones that give thanks for the part that you play? On this Labor Day may each of us be found in labor for our Lord.
