Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth.
KJV
This may not be the most well known verse in the Bible but it is one of the most important verses in the Bible. It is also one of the most contested verses in the Bible. The atheist hates this verse for it proves there is a God. The evolutionist hates this verse because it proves God created all things. Governments hate this verse because it proves nothing can prosper without God. Public education rests on denying this verse. Genesis 1:1 is perhaps the most contested verse in the Bible. But for the Christian it is a beautiful verse and is the foundation of all that we believe and should be the foundation of all that we do. But is it? Let us for a few days follow Genesis 1:1. Does your day begin with God? The Bible says “In the beginning God”. Does your day begin with God? Will you read His Word, talk to God in prayer to begin your day? What better way to begin each day. Most people will check the weather before they begin their day. Most will check the news to begin their day. What if we began each day with God, what if in the beginning God became the way each day began? What if we got out of bed early enough to spend just a little bit of time with God each day? Do you think it might lead to a better day? I know by experience that it does. Do you live the foundational truth given to us in Genesis 1:1? Or is God an afterthought each day? The Bible tells us how we ought to begin each day in the very first verse.
