Job 7:11 Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
KJV
Ever feel as if you have a right to complain to God about the circumstances of life? Job did and as one looks at the events taking place in Job’s life one would tend to agree. Job was an upright man, a righteous man. Job then lost family, wealth and health. Yet at the close of chapter two we find these words. (Job 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.) “In all this did not job sin with his lips.” But the troubles continued to mount up as his friends accused Job of wrongdoing and bringing all upon himself. We then see Job begin to weary in this spiritual battle he was in and now claim a right to complain to God. The very same thing can take place in our lives today as we see events and circumstances that we do not understand, as we see trouble and sorry touch our lives. But did Job and do we have a right to complain? Has God suddenly turned against us? Has God lost control? Should we follow the counsel of the world and complain against the God of heaven? Remember from yesterday that our God can be found and we can find comfort and peace in Him. It is at times we are moved to complain that we need pray and praise our God. It is at times we are moved to complain that we need draw closer to our God. It is at times when we are moved to complain that we need our God even more. This poor man knows that troubles can mount up and we can be moved to complain but it is at those times we need to pray and praise, to think of the goodness of our God.
