7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
KJV
Are we willing to humble ourselves, are we willing to submit to God’s will for our lives, are we willing to submit to the authority of God? It is the first step to casting all cares and worries, all needs upon our Lord. Many times growing up I tried to rebel against the authority of my earthly father and that interfered with our relationship. Later I found out he was right in what he wanted me to do and was demanding of me. As I humbled myself to his authority over me our relationship improved and I could once again talk to dad and he was there for me. Today I need to humble myself before my heavenly Father in the same way. As our relationship grows deeper and stronger I am free to take ever need, every care, ever worry to Him with the absolute confidence that He will meet the need and that He will do all things well. One reason so many Christians have such a shallow prayer life is that they refuse to submit to God’s authority and humble themselves before Him. That once again opens the door to the attack of the enemy.
