July 11th, 2022 by Pastor Solley1 Peter 5:6-10 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

How many are the times we as believers in Christ try and exalt ourselves above God? The word exalt in verse six means to be lifted up and I find that there is a time when we will be lifted up, exalted in Christ and by Christ. But that time is not now. For now we need to be humble before God and cast all care and worry upon Him and that means all doubt and fear as well. We will look at this passage of Scripture this week because there are many times we do not understand the workings of our God, we fail to comprehend the plan and purpose of God, there are those times when we just wonder and want to ask God why. It is at those times the enemy will attack as we see in verse eight and it is at those times that many fall to that roaring lion. Even in trying times we must remember that the mighty hand of God is upon us. (1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:) I do not find anything in the Bible that God touches, lays His hand upon, that does not come out well and good. The hand of God never fails, never forsakes, never tires, and always does all things well. When we know that to be true, and it is, we need to humble ourselves before Him. That means to bow to Him in submission. His ways are higher than our ways, His understanding beyond ours, His will always best for all concerned. Don’t give the enemy an opportunity to attack today because we question God, because we demand to be exalted before his time. Bow before Him today and then we can cast all our cares upon Him. (More on that tomorrow.)
