1 Cor 4:1-2 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
KJV
We are stewards of the life we have been given by God and will one day give an account before God of what we have done with our life in relation to Jesus Christ. That is the first thing we will give an accounting of, have we been born again, have we received His free pardon of sin and the salvation He suffered and died to provide on the cross so it could be offered to us? Are you born again this morning? Are you sure you are on the way to heaven? Have you received the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart today? Then we will give an account of how we live our new life. If one is born again does that not tell us there is a new life to live? That new born baby has had life from the moment of conception but when they are born into this world life changes. So it is when a lost sinner is born again, life changes, we now have a life to live with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit within. How then will we live that new life we have been made a steward of? I see clearly in the above verses that God wants, Christ wants us to be faithful to Him. There are others I need to be faithful to in this world such as my wife, my children, my grandchildren, the local church I pastor, other family and friends and so on. But my faithfulness to Jesus Christ must come first and I will then find myself faithful to others as well. But always Jesus Christ first. Are you living a changed life today, a life changed because you have been born again? Are you faithful to Christ today? Here is a test to help answer that question, a test I take quite often. What if Jesus were only as faithful to you today as you were to Him yesterday? We are required to be faithful, are we?
