2 Chron 7:14-15 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
KJV
On this Independence Day it is time for God’s people to lead this nation back to our foundation. Verse fourteen above begins with an invitation and ends with a promise as God calls for His children to cry out to Him in prayer, to turn from wickedness and sin, and stand with Him. Then prayers for the nation will be answered and God can be attentive to those prayers. (Verse fifteen) We stand as a free people and free nation today because our founding fathers stood upon the Word of God which is a fact that our leaders today ignore or don’t understand. Today we need to determine as believers in Christ to turn to Christ in prayers for our nation as every nation in world history that has ignored God has fallen and those that ignore God today will also fall. Pray for our nation today dear Christian. But we must also make sure that we as individuals turn from our sin and wickedness as well. Open the channels of prayer as David did in Psalm 51, as Nehemiah did in Nehemiah 1. Open those channels of prayer and then keep them open. These are dark and gloomy times and those are the times God’s people need to be in prayer more and not less. Pray.
