Ps 116:13-16 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
KJV
Be sure and follow the steps in the right order. One must see themselves as a sinner. (Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;) One must know that to die in sin brings eternal punishment in hell. (Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;) One must see the savior on the cross. (Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.) One must repent of sin and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation for Jesus in the only way to heaven. (John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.) One must ask in faith and believing for Jesus to same them and He will. (Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.) That is what makes death precious in heaven and on this earth as well when we know our loved ones were born again. Now we look at a risen savior. Our eyes do not remain fixed on the cross but on the empty tomb for as Jesus arose from the grave to live again and we now have new life in Jesus Christ. We rise from a life of sin to a life of service. Verse 16 states that we can be His servant and serve Him. Before salvation we served sin, after we can serve Christ, we have a new master and we can have a new life. My friend did pass yesterday and he leaves behind a life of service for the Lord. He followed the steps above and he did serve the one who saved him faithfully his entire life. I know his passing was precious in heaven and it is as well to those who remain here because he now stands in the presence of the Lord. Be sure you are born again today and that your passing will be precious in heaven.
