15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

When to begin spiritual training for children? That is a question clearly answered in the Bible. We see in our text this morning that Timothy was to continue in the things he has learned. (Verse 14) In the next verse we find when he began to learn, from a child. (Verse 15) The Greek word translated child in this verse means an infant and is even used when speaking of a child in the womb. (Luke 1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:) Young people need to be brought to Jesus at the earliest age. I remember talking to our children about the Lord before they could talk, reading the Bible, praying over them, carrying them into the church house and that before I was called to be a pastor. I remember telling our oldest grandchild about Joseph when we was just a few days old as I leaned over the rail of his crib. Parents want to give their children the best of everything they need today except it seems what they need the most and who they need the most. When should you begin spiritual training for your children? Let the Bible answer that question.
