May 9th, 2022 by Pastor SolleyEccl 2:15-16 Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.
16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.

Solomon was used of the Lord to write three books of the Bible. A book of love, a book of wisdom and a book of regrets. The book of Ecclesiastes is that book of regrets. While it is the Word of God it presents many things from the viewpoint of man. In our text Solomon presents that a wise man or a fool are both soon forgotten after death. But is that true? Is that the view of man, as much of this book is, or the view of God? Let us consider God’s view. (Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.) Here I find that the works if the blessed man, the Godly man, the wise man follow even after death. They follow in heaven for sure as eternal rewards are handed out before the judgment seat of Christ, but they follow in this world as well. What of those who have had an influence upon your life for Christ and have died and are now in heaven? Did their influence stop when their heart did, or do they continue to have an influence upon you today? Work for the Lord, labor for the Lord, have a testimony for the Lord, time spent for the Lord, these things are never wasted time or labor for they continue to follow one into heaven and continue to influence those who are still in this world. Why not live and serve in a way that your works will be remember after you are gone?
