2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
KJV
There is far too much fretting today and not enough commitment. How easy it is to fret today over the actions of evildoers. War erupting around the world, our own elected officials seeming to be unaware of the needs in our nation, programs enacted that only add to our problems, crime on a rocket like rise. On and on we see things that can and often do cause us to fret. What is the answer to fretting? Commitment, commitment to Christ. We need to trust the Lord. The three in Babylon had ever reason to fret as the fiery furnace awaited them but those chose to trust and stay committed to the Lord. David had ever reason to fret as Goliath stood before him on that battlefield but he chose to trust and stay committed to the Lord. Peter had ever reason to fret as he awaited his sure execution at the hands of Herod but he chose to trust and stay committed to the Lord. We need less fretting today and more commitment. Our God has not changed, His arm has not been shortened. Why not memorize Ps 37:3-5 and make it our way of life? More commitment will lead to less fretting.
